Report took shape and through the years it has become a critical
element to the success of many of the leading restaurant chains
around the world. Because of a very strong team of experts and
analysts, People Report has been able to progressively offer its
members innovative and ground-breaking solutions and resources that
have helped put workforce trends at the forefront of the service
industry.
History
In 1995, Joni Thomas Doolin and a small team of analysts and HR
executives designed and launched the survey that became the
foundation for the People Report consortium. Today this consortium
includes hundreds of brands and represents millions of employees.
Recognized by the industry as a savvy and trusted research partner,
People Report has evolved throughout a period of increasingly
competitive business cycles to provide the information, insight and
best practices that members need to grow and thrive.

Management
Joni Thomas Doolin
CEO & Founder
Joni Thomas Doolin is the CEO and founder of People Report™, the
foremost provider of human capital metrics, benchmarks, trends and
best people practices for the foodservice industry. Acknowledged by
the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation as an
expert in workforce practices, this innovative research and
consulting practice publishes quarterly and annual reports for it's
members that track, analyze and benchmark the people side of the
P&L. Based in Dallas, Texas, the People Report consortium
represents more than 12,000 restaurant units of 100+ restaurant
chains, with system-wide sales exceeding $45 billion. The firm's
extensive databank contains insight on more than 100,000 unit level
managers and the collective work practices of over 1,000,000
employees, providing competitive workforce data that represents one
in five chain foodservice employees.
Since 1995, People Report's work has established new standards
in best practices, raising the bar for people management, resulting
in significant improvement in critical areas including employee
retention and composite diversity. Committed to helping the People

Doolin's innovation and thought leadership has helped the industry
realize the bottom line impact associated with its greatest asset,

Joni's extensive industry and community involvement revolve
around her commitment to helping the foodservice industry truly
become an employer of choice. She is a frequent speaker, writer and
contributor to trade and business publications regarding innovation
in human capital practices. She serves as a guest editor for Chain
Leader Magazine's Best Places to Work issue, and as an advisor to
both the National Restaurant Association and its Educational
Foundation on workplace trends.
She is a past National President of the Roundtable for Women in
Foodservice, an active member of the Women's Foodservice Forum, and
the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance. In 2002,
Doolin and her husband Wally proudly created and funded a
scholarship endowment for women and minorities that is granted
annually through the National Restaurant Association's Educational
Foundation and the MFHA.
Doolin serves as an advisor to Retention Education, is on the
Advisory Board of ESP Systems, and is on the National Board of
Directors for Share Our Strength, the nation's leading anti-hunger
organization. She received a "Pacesetter" award from the Roundtable
for Women in Foodservice and was profiled as a "Trail Blazer" by
F&B Business magazine. In 2005, Doolin received the prestigious
Trailblazer Award from the Women's Foodservice Forum acknowledging
her contributions to the foodservice industry, and her support of
the value of diversity in the workplace.
Wallace Doolin
Chairman & Founder
In addition to People Report, Wallace Blair Doolin is currently
founder and principle with Black Box Intelligence and other
businesses engaged in service sector business intelligence.
Additionally, Doolin serves as Vice Chairman and Interim CEO of ESP
Systems a hospitality technology company created to facilitate
guest service and provide management with efficiency information
and benchmarking for restaurants and casino's. Other current
responsibilities include serving on the board of directors of
Caribou Coffee and Lone Star/Texas Land and Cattle companies.
Highlights of Doolin's experience in leadership positions
include:
Chairman and CEO of Buca, Inc. a public company turn around;
during an SEC investigation leading to prior officers being jailed;
subsequent restructure and sale of the company. CEO and Board
Member of LaMadeleine French Bakery Cafes a quick casual concept
turn around and positioning for growth. CEO of Carlson Restaurants
Worldwide - Doolin joined TGI Friday's in 1989 as SVP of
Development and Franchising for domestic and international when TGI
Friday's had 135 restaurants in 2 countries. He was made
CEO/President of TGI Friday's in 1994 and built Carlson Restaurants
Worldwide over the next 8 years to a multi-concept company with
770+ restaurants in 55+ countries achieving $2.4 billion in
worldwide revenues. President of Applebee's, Inc. where Doolin set
up the organization for growth and signed the first 13 franchisees.
VP of Acquisitions and Concept Development for WR Grace Fun Foods
responsible for the acquisition of Applebee's and brand
repositioning of Del Taco. Doolin began his career as a restaurant
manager for Steak and Ale Restaurants under Norman Brinker.
In addition to his for profit board work, Doolin currently
serves as the Chairman, Great American Dine Out (4000 restaurants
involved) and the board of directors of Share Our Strength whose
mission is to end childhood hunger. Doolin is a past Chairman of
the National Restaurant Association's Educational Foundation and
served several years on the executive committee of the National
Restaurant Association Board of Directors. Currently he is a
Trustee Emeritus for the National Restaurant Association and the
National Restaurant Association's Educational Foundation.
Doolin's honors include the 1997 International Foodservice
Manufacturers Association Silver Plate Award; the 1998 Multi-unit
Foodservice Operators Golden Chain Award; the 1998 Elliot Mentor
Award; Nation's Restaurant News Top 50 Power Players list in
January 2000; the 1997 Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers
(CHART) Commitment to People Award; the 1997 Women's Foodservice
Forum Leadership Award; the 1992 and 1993 T.G.I. Friday's Executive
"Star Among Stars Award"; the 1998 Carlson Companies International
prestigious Curt Carlson Fellows Award for outstanding long-term
excellence; and an honorary doctorate of business administration in
hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University. He is a
frequent speaker, and has been profiled in dozens of trade press
and business periodicals, including Forbes, and the Wall Street
Journal.
Doolin and his wife Joni Thomas Doolin (CEO and founder of
People Report) are committed to sharing their strength with active
involvement in their church, community and the industry. Their
passions center on the issues of education and a commitment to
ending childhood hunger. In 2000, the Doolin's created and funded a
scholarship endowment for women and minorities to be granted
annually through the National Restaurant Association's Educational
Foundation. The Doolin's also created and were founding
contributors to Share Our Strength's International Alima Children's
Fund, created to address solutions for hunger and poverty for
children around the world; Doolin served his country as a Captain
in the US Army for six and half years between active and reserve
duty.
