Talent Revolution Live, a two day social media
workshop presented by the team at Talent
Revolution has not even started this morning - but in my book
it is already memorable for some reasons that stretch far beyond
what the attendees will take home in their notes and course
books.

The TR crew, led by CEO & Founder Amanda Hite, aka @sexythinker has been blazing the ground of
using social media in recruitment and branding for the past two
years. While they cut their teeth in the restaurant industry,
today with tens of thousands of followers on Twitter, Facebook, and
their own blogs and communities, Talent Revolution is a force and a
voice that is rapidly emerging as an expert in the talent and
social media space. So no surprise that their workshop is
sold out, and that the attendees include savvy recruiters,
marketers and operators.
But back to why today is remarkable. Some C's:
collaboration, community, and continuous
learning; workforce practices that People
Report has been tying to the Employee Value Proposition of
winning companies for the past five years.

We know it when we see it, and this is the real deal. This
workshop came together over a few months - the spark and creation
of Amanda, Chris Reed and the team; but fueled and aided
by input, support and excitement not just from their own
colleagues, but from the community that they have carefully
developed and earned. As Amanda headed to Dallas with a back
injury, her legion of supporters sent tips, remedies, and
recommendations on how to get well quickly (although an unusually
large number of these recommendations seemed to involve
bourbon). This morning the high-fives and good luck
wishes have already come in from coast to coast, and they are from
real people, who genuinely care about the success of this
event. Because they genuinely care about the other people who
will be in Dallas today; learning, sharing, improving their own
game and that of the organizations they represent.
This is a room full of competitors - being led by a team that
understands the essence of co-optition and paying it forward.
They are collaborating, working in community, focused on continuous
learning and reaping both the tangible and intrinsic rewards that
are the result. The companies that paid their way here will
do likewise. I have no doubt that the sum of the next two
days will be bigger than its parts. It's a glimpse into the
workplace revolution that smart companies already have begun to
embrace.
